What personal data we collect and why we collect it?


Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.



An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.



Media

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Cookies

If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.



If you have an account and you log in to this site, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.



When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.



If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

Who we share your data with & How long we retain your data?

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.



For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.



What rights you have over your data?

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.



Bible Journey App

Camera – Our app will allow the usage of personal photos on our app. We do not take any responsibility for any loss of your image from our database.


Handling your data.

Deletion:

You can request for your account to be permanently deleted any time. These actions will erase your account as well as any data in other users' profiles that relates to your account. After the account is deleted, all data will be permanently lost and never recoverable. You can send us a request through our email: contact@wildgooepublishing.ie



Modification:

You can modify your data any time you are using the app by yourself however if your account is compromised, you can request us to modify un appealing data such as bad graphics, abusive comments etc. You can send us a request through our email: contact@wildgooepublishing.ie

We may scrutinize your data handling request by asking some identity questions. These may include but are not limited to.

  • You email.

  • Your username.

  • At least 5 verses you have made.

  • At least 5 people you are following or connected to.

  • Your favorites

Please note that not all requests will be accepted for the following reasons. 

  1. If the identity of the requestor is not verified.

  2. If we determine that the request will compromise the privacy of others.

  3. If the request violates any law or legal requirement, would cause the information to be incorrect, or for a similar legitimate purpose.

We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of your rights under applicable law. We do not charge a fee to process or respond to your verifiable request unless it is excessive, repetitive, or manifestly unfounded. If we determine that the request warrants a fee, we will tell you why we made that decision and provide you with a cost estimate before completing your request.

Some information you have created, received, or used in Journey Bible App may not be available in a usable form outside of Journey Bible App. As a result, when you request a copy of your personal information, we will be able to provide personal information you have provided to us, such as your name, address, phone number and the like; however, we may be unable to provide you with content and User Contributions that utilize YouVersion functionality.



Deleting your account.

You can delete your Journey Bible account at any time using the settings function in Journey Bible; however, when you delete your account we will delete the information associated with your account such as Notes, Tags and other User Contributions you have created, received or shared. If you do not want to delete your account or this information, but want to temporarily stop using journey Bible, you may cease using the Journey Bible application and we will maintain your account and the information associated with your account until you resume use or delete your account, whichever comes first.

If you choose to delete your account or ask that we modify or delete personal information, we will delete and purge personal information we have stored about you in a way that is electronically irreversible, however, we may retain your personal data if we have a legal right or obligation to maintain the information or to meet regulatory requirements, resolve disputes, maintain security, prevent fraud and abuse, enforce our rights, or fulfill any other requests from you (for example, to opt-out of further messages or for a copy of your data). Otherwise, if you request that we delete your account, we will delete your account and all the information we have that is associated with your account, except for aggregated statistics based on de-identified information and inferences we have made (for example, the fact that you downloaded Journey Bible App, without identifying you or maintaining personal information associated with that account).

Our deletion of your information and account will generally take no more than fourteen days from your request; however, cached information may take up to thirty days to delete. Please note that we have no control of information you have shared with others through Journey Bible App after you close your account or asked to delete information or attempted to delete your account yourself. Your information and content you have shared may continue to be displayed in the services of others (for example, search engine results) until they refresh their cache.
